Global Consulting Program
Seeking to differentiate yourself in a highly competitive job market? The Global Consulting Program (GCP) offers a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity that will accelerate your career trajectory by engaging with global companies.
GCP provides MBA students with an opportunity to engage consulting projects with companies in emerging markets, specifically Brazil, China, India, and South Africa. This exclusive opportunity complements theoretical concepts learned in the classroom and gives students real-world experience. Students will work remotely with an international client and travel to the designated country to meet with and present to the client.
| Country | Duration | Trip | Project Deliverable |
| India | Fall semester | Winter Break | Final Deliverable |
| South Africa | Fall semester | Winter Break | Final Deliverable |
| Brazil | Spring semester | Spring Break | Mid-point review |
| China | Spring semester | Spring Break | Mid-point review |
Benefits of participating in the Global Consulting Program include the following:
- Real-world, value-added consulting experience
- Unparalleled professional development
- Weekly interactions with clients
- Professional networking opportunities with clients, corporate executives, and Illinois alumni
- Results-driven success stories
- Once-in-a-lifetime travel and cultural experiences that are exclusive to Illinois MBA students
In addition to formal meetings with clients, students will receive inside exposure to the nation, culture, history, industries, economy, commercial leaders, local citizens, Illinois alumni, and more! Each 10-day trip will be composed of client meetings, company visits, and cultural activities.
All MBA students are eligible to participate in one international trip during their two years at Illinois. In an attempt to best serve the clients and their needs, students will apply and go through a selection process based on their previous experience, skills, career goals, and program involvement.
The trip is completely subsidized by the Illinois MBA. As a result there are minimal out-of-pocket expenses for students to participate. Accordingly, this is an extremely unique and highly coveted MBA experience. Don't miss this professional opportunity to gain tacit insight into emerging markets, diverse cultures, and global business.
